This Sri Lanka scenic explorer tour takes you through the island’s cultural landmarks, tea country landscapes, and wildlife-rich national parks. In just a few days, you’ll experience iconic sites including Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the sacred Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the cool hill country of Ella, and a safari adventure in Udawalawe National Park.
The journey begins with a transfer from Negombo or Colombo, traveling through Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle to visit the famous Dambulla Cave Temple and climb the legendary rock citadel of Sigiriya. Continue to the historic hill capital of Kandy where sacred Buddhist heritage, lakeside scenery, and panoramic viewpoints reveal the charm of the city.
Your adventure then heads into Sri Lanka’s tea country, visiting a working tea plantation before enjoying the unforgettable scenic train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella. Surrounded by rolling green hills, waterfalls, and tea estates, Ella offers some of the most beautiful mountain scenery in Sri Lanka.
The journey concludes with a hike to Little Adam’s Peak, a visit to Ravana Falls, and an exciting wildlife safari in Udawalawe National Park where elephants and other wildlife roam freely. The tour ends with a comfortable transfer back to Colombo, Negombo, or the airport.
You'll land and get transferred to Kandy, with stops along the way. First, there's the Dambulla Cave Temple where you can see the ancient rock temples that have been preserved for centuries.
After that, you'll climb Sigiriya Rock, which offers panoramic views from the summit. The journey continues to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, one of Kandy’s most important Buddhist sites. Before checking into your hotel, you'll stop at Kandy View Point to admire views over the city and Kandy Lake.

After breakfast, you'll travel toward Ella with a stop at a tea factory and plantation along the way. Here you'll see how Sri Lanka’s famous tea is produced and observe the tea plucking and tea-making process.
You'll also sample freshly brewed tea at the plantation before continuing the journey. One of the highlights of the day is the scenic train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella, passing through lush hills, valleys, and endless tea estates. Once in Ella, check into your hotel and enjoy dinner.
