You'll arrive at Colombo International Airport where your guide meets you for the drive to Negombo, a fishing town conveniently located near the airport. It’s an easy first stop where you can settle in and begin your Sri Lanka journey.
Take time to walk along the historic Dutch Canal, also known as Hamilton Canal, a colonial waterway that runs between the coast and Negombo Lagoon. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a great introduction to the island.

After breakfast you'll visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka’s most famous landmarks rising about 200 meters above the surrounding plains.
As you climb the rock you will see ancient frescoes, the famous Mirror Wall, and the giant lion paws at the entrance before reaching the summit. Later visit the Dambulla Cave Temple and travel through Matale where you’ll stop at a Hindu temple and a spice garden before arriving in Kandy.

Today you'll board one of the most scenic train journeys in the world from Nanu Oya to Ella.
The train travels through tea plantations, misty mountains, tunnels, and rural villages. After arriving in Ella you can visit nearby waterfalls, the Nine Arch Bridge, and hike up Little Adam’s Peak for panoramic views.
