The cruise lasts approximately 3–4 hours and departs from Mirissa early in the morning. Travelers sail aboard a comfortable and fully insured boat operated by an experienced crew with more than seven years of whale watching experience in the Mirissa Sea.
During the cruise, there is a chance to encounter Blue Whales, Sperm Whales, Bryde’s Whales, and Fin Whales, along with playful dolphins and occasionally sea turtles. Breakfast is served onboard, including fresh fruits, cake, a fish sandwich, an egg bun, and tea while you enjoy the ocean views.
For comfort and safety, life jackets, sea sickness tablets, and onboard medical support are available. Free hotel pickup within the Mirissa city area is included, and pickups from nearby towns can be arranged for an additional fee.
Your whale watching experience begins early in the morning with hotel pickup in the Mirissa city area between 6:00 AM and 6:45 AM. Guests staying within 4 km of Mirissa receive free pickup, while travelers from nearby towns can arrange transport for an additional fee. If preferred, participants may meet directly at the meeting point “Whale Watching Mirissa with Geeth.”
At around 7:00 AM, the boat departs into the Mirissa Sea for an exciting marine wildlife adventure. During the 3–4 hour cruise, travelers may encounter Blue Whales, Sperm Whales, Bryde’s Whales, Fin Whales, dolphins, and sometimes sea turtles. While enjoying the ocean views, guests are served breakfast onboard including fruits, cake, a fish sandwich, an egg bun, and tea.
